Charlie was born November 29, 1936, in Rich Square, North Carolina. He was the son of the late James C. and Catherine Burns Bolton.
Charlie attended Rich Square High School where he excelled at sports and graduated early to enter the University of North Carolina at age 16. After graduation Charlie immediately started coaching and teaching in Virginia at what is now known as the City of Chesapeake. He obtained his Master’s degree at the College of William and Mary, and his Doctorate degree at the University of Virginia all while working full time as a teacher, Assistant Principal, Principal, and Assistant Superintendent for Chesapeake Public Schools. He worked for exactly 35 years without ever missing a day of work!
He is survived by his son Jeff and his wife Lisa of Roswell, and his son Fred of Dallas, Texas;
3 Grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jacob, and Anna of Roswell. He is survived by his sister Catherine of Greenville, North Carolina.
In addition to his wife Jewel, he was predeceased by his brother James.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 14, 2018 at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road Roswell Ga. 30075. Friends may call on the family from 9:00 am until 10:00 am on Monday morning prior to the service.
