Lula “Carolyn” Holcomb Reynolds, 84, passed away surrounded by family at her home in Canton, GA, on November 26, 2021. Mrs. Reynolds was born in 1937 in Toccoa, Georgia, to Earl and Norma Lee Holcomb. She has been a resident of Georgia her entire life, meeting her high school sweetheart, Charles “Chuck Sr” Raymond Reynolds, Sr., at Rome High School. They were married in 1957 and had two beautiful children, son, Charles “Chuck Jr” Raymond Reynolds, Jr., and a daughter, Christa Lee Reynolds. After working with the FBI, General Motors and other companies including family businesses, she became a full time mom.
She was known as “Carolyn” to her friends and Mom to her family. She loved the Lord and her family fiercely, and everyone that knows Carolyn understands what a light and strong character she was. Carolyn loved her country, uplifting those who have served and those serving in prayer continuously. She also enjoyed Homosassa, Florida, where she and Charles owned a home for 13 years. Carolyn was an avid reader of all genres and enjoyed doing her daily crossword puzzles. She especially loved her daily devotionals, which her husband read to her nightly. Carolyn adored her grandchildren and was very involved in all of their lives, picking them up from school, being the best nurse as an excuse to stay out of school, or taking them to some beach trip fun.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Norma Lee Holcomb, her sister, Henrietta Rickett West, and in-laws, George Raymond and Aurie Minda Reynolds.
Mrs. Reynolds is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Charles R. Reynolds, Sr., her son, Charles R. Reynolds, Jr.,(daughter-in-law, Denise) and (step children, Ansley Hunt and Avery Hunt) and her daughter, Christa Lee Reynolds, her sisters, Sandra Cape (brother -in-law, Jim) and Shirley Barnes, her sister-in-law, Sally Jo Barnett, (brother-in-law, Winston), grandchildren, Lindsey Lee Andersen (husband Eric), Charles “Charlie” Raymond Reynolds, III, Connor Franklin Reynolds, and Chandler Earl Reynolds (wife Tiana). She has also been blessed with three great-grandchildren, Myla, Waylon, and Murphy Elizabeth.
Carolyn cherished her long-time friends, who are too numerous to name, but please know how much she appreciated your calls, visits, cards, and communions shared.
A memorial is planned to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, Georgia 30076.
