Carol Joyce Bristow Anderson-Wood, died August 20, 2022, in Alpharetta, GA. She was born June 26, 1947, in Springfield, MO to Eugene and Betty (Ludwig) Bristow. Carol grew up in Branson and Springfield, MO, graduating from Branson High School in 1965. She was a long-time resident of Alpharetta, GA.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Randy Anderson, and niece, Joanna Anderson.
Carol leaves behind her husband of 26 years, Alan Wood. She is also survived by her children, Jennifer (Rob) Kealler, Stephanie (Shane) Dockery, and Wesley (Melissa) Anderson, grandchildren Caroline Kealler, Anderson Kealler, Colin Dockery, and George Anderson, brother-in-law David (Amy) Anderson, sisters-in-law Suzanne Miller and Robin (Steve) Carter as well many nieces and nephews.
Carol had a long-standing career in the banking industry, starting in Branson, MO and finishing as branch manager in Alpharetta, GA. She was an original Downtown Alpharetta Trade Association (DATA) board member. She played a large part in the establishment and growth of the Alpharetta Farmer’s Market, watching it grow from 9 farmers to more than 110 venders in 2019. She was instrumental in creating the Brew Moon Festival and had roles in events such as The State of the City Address and Mayor’s Breakfast. Carol was active member in Alpharetta Business Association (ABA), Kiwanis, Leadership North Fulton, and North Fulton Chamber of Commerce. In February 2020, Carol was recognized by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Alpharetta for her tireless support of Alpharetta and service to the community.
After dedicating herself to raising her three children, she easily transitioned into the role of “Nanny” by loving and supporting her grandkids. She spent a lifetime playing tennis and made many friendships doing so. She was known for her cooking ability, and she loved fresh vegetables. She was often found at the beach, the hair salon, or getting her nails done. Carol was notorious for putting others first and recognized by all for serving those around her.
The family will hold a visitation on Saturday, August 27, 2022, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Roswell Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Roswell Funeral Home.
The following week Carol will be laid to rest in Mansfield, MO through Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home-Mansfield.
