Bryant Eugene Kline passed away on December 6, 2023, in Atlanta, Georgia. His family was by his side when he died after a valiant effort to defeat pulmonary fibrosis. He was born on January 8, 1958 in Huntington, Indiana to Norma Elaine Tyner Kline and Donnie Dean Kline and grew up with his beloved siblings Brenda and Brent.
Graduating from Ball State University in 1981, Bryant went to work for Target as a store manager in charge of opening Super Target stores in new markets. As a retail executive, Bryant finished out his career working in a similar capacity for stores like Rite Aid and Dollar General.
Bryant was fortunate to find his soulmate, Stacey Walls Kline, later in life. His hardworking and industrious nature made him a successful executive and was part of how he and Stacey found kindred spirits in one another. Many of their days together began with a gourmet cup of Stacey’s favorite coffee and ended with the two holding hands and sharing information about their days. Stacey and Bryant enjoyed vacationing at the beach, especially with their friends Debra and Mike Dubois, and traveling to visit his beloved mother in Indiana.
Bryant had a big and open heart and was always up for time spent with his children, Nick Kline and Jeremy Kline, and his grandchildren. To know Bryant was to hear stories and be shown pictures and videos of Alexis playing Lacrosse or London playing soccer or of Lula’s bright smile. He very much enjoyed watching London play soccer on Saturday mornings or telling anyone about his son Nick’s new business ventures.
Athletics were a central interest for Bryant, and he and Stacey spent many hours watching football and cheering on his favorite team, the University of Michigan. Along with watching football, golf was Bryant’s main game of interest. He played golf with his son Jeremy in younger years and spent many hours teaching the game to his stepdaughter Alexis. Bryant and his stepson Brent spent much time talking about Brent’s favorite sport, pickleball, and weight training and fitness.
Bryant was also a true animal lover and would often be found with his treasured puppies Mayzie, who was his constant couch buddy, and Roxy.
