Betty was born to the late Clee M. Loudermilk and Evie K. Loudermilk on November 15, 1930, in Chamblee, GA. She graduated from West Fulton High School and proceeded to Bob Jones University where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1954. She traveled to Japan on a freighter ship on August 3, 1955, where she served as a missionary for over 55 years. While in Japan, she opened Ebenezer Children's Home in 1970 and placed over 400 babies/toddlers into Christian homes across the world. She is survived by her 15 children: David "Yachan" Loudermilk; Martha "Miko" Loudermilk; Mary Loudermilk; Joseph Loudermilk (Christy); Amy Vliet; Christina "Christy" Loudermilk; John "Shini" Loudermilk (Aungsana); Daniel Loudermilk (Sarah); Thomas Loudermilk (Astrid); Steven Loudermilk; Peter Loudermilk (Jennifer); Luke Loudermilk; Naomi Loudermilk; Hannah Alexander (Chris); Enoch Loudermilk.
She is also survived by her 17 grandchildren: Erica Loudermilk; Alyssa Tate (Brandon); Blakelyn Lumpkin; Brayson Loudermilk; Sarah and Richie Vliet; Haddon, Hudson, and Handel Sim; Katelyn Loudermilk; Oliver and August Loudermilk; Akira Loudermilk; Parker Loudermilk; Hope, Christian, and Cooper Alexander; and two nephews, Timothy and Stacy Loudermilk.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Everett C. Loudermilk; nephew, Keith Loudermilk; and son-in-law, Russell E. Vliet.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, GA 30076. A visitation will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lebanon Baptist Church, 11250 Crabapple Road, Roswell, GA 30075. A funeral service will occur Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Lebanon Baptist Church, 11250 Crabapple Rd., Roswell, GA 30075.
Committal and burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mount Vernon Hwy. NW, Sandy Springs, GA 30328 for close family and friends.
