Mrs. Barbara Irvin Pettit

Barbara was born on November 21, 1930 in Sycamore, Georgia to the late Murray Rigsby and Emma Fletcher Irvin. After graduating from high school, Barbara moved to Atlanta to attend Business School and began working as a legal secretary at the Fine and Block law firm. She married Roy (Pete) L. Pettit in 1949, where Pete worked as sales manager for RCA Distributing Corp. Barbara was a member of Roswell United Methodist Church for 20 years and enjoyed gardening, antiques and watching her Atlanta Braves.

Barbara is preceded in death by her beloved husband Roy (Pete) L. Pettit and son Robert Allen Pettit.

She is survived by her sons Jeff (Karen) Pettit of Cincinnati, OH and Gregg Pettit of Jacksonville, FL. Granddaughters Diane (Evan) Holden, Janet (Tim) Westrich, Laura Pettit, Lauren Pettit, Jenilee (Brian) Lipinski, Christina (Kyle) Nix. Five Great grandchildren. Brothers; James Donald (Juanice) Irvin of Doraville, Georgia and Murray (Willa Jean) Irvin of Sycamore, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held 10:30 am Friday, August 25, 2017 at Roswell United Methodist Church with a visitation beginning one hour prior. Interment will take place immediately following the Funeral Service at Green Lawn Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Reception will follow the Interment at Roswell Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Roswell United Methodist Church in Barbara's memory.
