It is with profound sadness and an abundance of love that we remember the radiant spirit of Ashley Claire Leone, who graced our lives for 36 remarkable years. Unexpectedly, Ashley left behind her high school sweetheart and devoted husband, her two children, and many friends and family who will miss her dearly. She will remain the brightest light in our eyes and now lives forever in our hearts.
Ashley was a beacon of kindness, love, and selfless generosity. She touched so many lives and embraced her children with unwavering devotion. She was a cherished daughter, a loving wife, an endearing sister, a devoted aunt, a loyal friend, and, above all, an extraordinary mother. All her relationships were ‘soul deep’, and she had an unstoppable need to help others with her beautiful giving spirit and her unmistakable laugh.
Ashley’s love for children and passion for education led to her pursuit of a Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus on early childhood education from Georgia State University. She embarked on a fulfilling career as a 4th grade special education teacher, instilling knowledge, and compassion in young hearts. Her greatest desire and purpose in life came true when she was blessed with her two children. Her children filled her heart with joy. Ashley also dedicated her time to the PTO at her children's elementary school, making a difference in the lives of students and their families.
In 2015, Ashley joined her mother's newly formed company where she made an enormous impact helping across finance, accounting, operations, and event planning. The company leaned on Ashley’s planning and organizational skills, and she often laughed at how little organization her mom and sister had.
Ashley cherished time spent with her children, family, and friends. She spearheaded the coordination of many vacations and created magical memories. Ashley spent countless hours selflessly planning months in advance to ensure the entire family had Mickey Mouse ears, clothes, and any and all accessories needed for a successful trip to Disney. She enjoyed seeing the wonder on her children’s faces as they experienced the magic together and was always there to offer a bundle of hugs to comfort the kids when they leapt into her arms upon their first encounter with Mickey Mouse and Pluto. For a more relaxing time, Ashely found solace in reading under the sun on the beach while listening to the sound of the ocean and her children’s laughter playing in the surf.
Ashley was a natural planner. She had Christmas gifts planned and purchased by July of every year. She added personal touches to every occasion, be it holidays, vacations, birthdays, or school events. Her unexpected departure feels like the ultimate irony as we find ourselves wandering through the dark attempting to coordinate a memorial for our devoted master planner.
Ashley is now our angel, watching over us with her eternal love and care. Her memory lives on in our hearts, and her laughter resonates in our every joy. When we laugh, we hear her laugh. As we smile, we know that she is smiling with us. When we shed tears, we feel her comforting hand on our shoulders.
Ashley is predeceased by her father, Karl Duke, who she has been reunited with in Heaven. She is survived by her husband, John Leone, her two cherished children ages five and seven, her mother, Joan Guillory, her dad, Richard Rivera, her sisters, Jennifer Mitchell and Gina Velasco, her grandmother, Fay Guillory, her in-laws Joe & Sheila Leone, several nieces and nephews who she greatly adored, and many other family and friends.
