Mr. Arthur G. French, 98, of Alpharetta entered into God’s care on March 22, 2013. He was born in Richland, GA on Dec. 13, 1914 to Arthur Allen and Susie French. He is known for his great sense of humor and love for his family, friends and church. He was a career executive at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, retiring in 1980. He also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in Africa and France. After retirement, he back packed across Europe, learned to snow ski at age 70, and loved to spend time at the beach. Arthur’s greatest love was spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Mabel, on May 10, 1980, his brothers Marion and Eldridge and grandson Rick Piovesan. He is survived by his children, Genie (Del) Capps, Laura Hale, Lyla (Michael) Klansky and Allen (Nancy) French; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Sun., March 24, 2013 at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Rd., Roswell, GA, 30076. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM, Mon., March 25, at St. Aidan's Episcopal Church, 13560 Cogburn Rd., Alpharetta, GA 30004 with The Rev. Robert B. Wood officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Memorial Park, Sandy Springs, GA following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to St. Aidan's Episcopal Church. Roswell Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
