Understanding Susie - What is life? It’s about all the times shared laughing, crying, listening, sharing; it’s about who we are and who we know ; it’s who we touch with a kind word, a simple smile, a mini-hug or a bear hug; it’s about living life to the best of our potential; it’s about knowing you make a difference whether volunteering, at work, school, or at play; it’s in the cherished quiet moments or the crazy antics of life; it’s about sharing a goal together; It’s about being an awesome daughter, an amazing sister, a great granddaughter, a spectacular aunt, a mischievous niece, an unbelievable family member or friend; it’s about singing a song at a concert, listening to my music selection, or singing a baby lullaby or the ABC’s; it’s about camping or sitting by the pool for a few rays and a barbeque, munchies or a pizza (awesome pizza oven daddy); it’s about helping a sick or grieving friend with a hug or shoulder to cry on; it’s about reading a book for pleasure or to the kids; it’s about taking a walk; it’s about planting flowers for mother’s day and a barbeque; it’s about sharing a quiet moment with dad or laughter at a comedian act (Lavell -why you breathing so hard – so I can Live..., oh did she laugh); it’s about having the best cousins, aunts and uncles (never knowing what to expect next); it’s about grade school, high school and medical assisting and nurse school antics (there were many); it’s about sports (participating, coaching or watching – Go Lions, even supporting Packer fans); it’s about sharing memories of those who left before us (now hanging with Sue); a card game or cards against humanity; canoeing; a hospital visitor, nurse, aid, doctor, or food associate (P&J, she got so tired of hospital food); it’s about a walk around the halls of hospital grounds or coloring in her adult coloring books (Rappers were a hit); it’s about living vicariously through the lives of others through videos, Instagram, Snapchat (oh, the laughter – you made her smile); it’s about family/friend trips to Chicago, Valpo, Caribbean, Cruises, water park, visiting her sister Shawna and family – such cherished memories); it’s about wedding, baby showers, birthdays, graduations, or whatever; and it’s about sharing connections with you, your families and friends - who became hers.

She was surrounded by most of her immediate family as we serenaded her on to her new life and said good bye
“You are my sunshine, my only sunshine,
you make me happy when times are blue,
you’ll never know dear how much we love you – oh, but you do, you do, you do!”.
We all love you Susie, Mommy and Daddy, and your amazing brothers and sisters, and extensive extended family.
