Rosemary (Rose) Arden, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on November 3, 2023. Rose was 94 years young at her passing, and she lived a rich, caring life that always focused on others. She was the third child born in Detroit on November 28, 1928, to Leo and Marie Renaud. Rose was sister to nine brothers and sisters, and married the love of her life, Milton Anthony Arden, on August 28, 1948. Rose is survived by daughter Laura (Richard) Hannum Florence, David (Jill) Arden, Gail (Harold) Essmaker, Paul (Lisa) Arden, and by grandchildren Angel, April, Christopher, Jennifer, Jessica, Sarah, Jacob and Noah, and by great-grandchildren Nicholas, Elijah, Elanor, Nathan, Savannah, Gideon and Braxton.
Rose loved spending time with family and friends, taking an active part in planning wonderful gatherings and creating delicious meals for those events. Her home was a frequent haven and welcome place for neighborhood children, nephews and nieces, and grandchildren. Rose believed every person was special, and her friendships reflected her love for others. She was always ready to help others and to pray earnestly for those in need, and happy to share her love of Jesus with heartfelt compassion and concern for their needs. In keeping with her commitment to helping people, Rose worked as a church secretary and treasurer for several decades, and after retiring she spent many years volunteering at the Lighthouse Mission.
A visitation for Rosemary will be held Tuesday, November 7, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kaul Funeral Home, 27830 Gratiot Ave, Roseville, MI 48066. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 11:00 AM, 27830 Gratiot Ave, Roseville, MI 48066. A burial will occur Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Clinton Grove Cemetery, 21189 Cass Ave, Clinton Township, MI 48036.
