From the turn of the key in the back door notifying Francie and me as children "Aunt Pat was here it's time to get up for Christmas" to helping us learn to wrap Christmas gifts after work while mom cooked dinner, to the trip she accompanied Mom, Francie and me to Tahquamenon Falls, trips to the zoo, stopping by for coffee with mom and a trinket from Avon for Francie and me, overnights to Aunt Pat's then to the hairdresser and breakfast at Blazos, to each and every birthday party or celebration, long phone conversations from young adulthood through turning middle aged women, Aunt Pat was a tremendous part of all of our lives but, especially as the brothers grew up and moved out, and after mom died, did we grow closer.  The better days will be greatly, greatly missed. How blessed we are to have had an aunt who played such a significant role in our lives for such a long time.

Aunt Pat was my friend in genealogy and in life. I spent many hours with her looking at old photos and talking about her life and the places she called home. Her memory was always so sharp - she would recall people and events that are nearly forgotten in the history books, then she would ask me to find out more. I loved Aunt Pat very much and will miss her presence in my life.
