Uncle John was a very respected patriarch in our family. He lead by example for us all in Jesus Christ. I will certainly miss him and his letters and cards that he would faithfully send, but I know that we will all be reunited one day with our Savior. Thanks to our Heavenly Father, he has been reunited with his family, and I can only imagine his celebration! Job well done good and faithful servant. We will miss you here on Earth, but your spirit will remain here in our hearts.

I will surely miss Pastor John Veal. He was a great Pastor to me, a great friend, and a great Brother in Law. We spent many good times together in the Ministry for the Lord, he taught me many things. We spent many happy times with family, and camping, and fishing, and having lunch together in Port Huron. Enjoy your rest in Heaven , my Brother, and reunited with your Loved ones for eternity.

Brother Veal was greatly loved by everyone and will be so greatly missed. My memory goes back to the time we first visited Temple Baptist Church and told Brother Veal we were looking for a good Church to go to. He and Brother Lee visited our home the very next day and we soon became members.
Brother Veal always had a big Smile

Our loss is Heaven's gain. I am sure God said welcome Home Thou good and Faithful Servant.

We will all miss Uncle John (Pastor Veal). It was under his preaching, I accepted the Lord as my Savior. I was honored to be the first convert he baptized and he officiated at our wedding 36 years ago. Not only was he my spiritual leader, but he was my uncle. I remember at all the family functions he and his brother were so humorous and comical. They both kept us all laughing. I know he is up in heaven making his family laugh and having a great reunion. Thankful for his leadership and testimony in my life.

From: Gaynell Garrison, to my brother.  Remembering my brother goes back many many years ago. My brother was always a very ambitious young boy. At a very early age he worked and helped out the family by having a paper route and an egg business, delivering eggs to the neighborhood and always doing more than his share.  Our family lost our dad at an early age leaving 4 siblings one of only 7 years old. John stepped up and became the backbone of our family, while having a family of his own to care for. He watched over us and guided us like a father would, leading us spiritually and giving advice and making sure we behaved like we should.  Our mother was left with a 7 year old still at home and John mentored  them and watched over both.  John did not have an easy life but a Blessed Life going into pastoring several families and a church congregation  for many years. Throughout the loss of 2 children and eventually his wife and still remains a (Son) in law, he stood solid and strong in his faith in CHRIST and carried  on.  Even though I was moved to another state he was always there still advising and concerned of family.  We all looked up to him as an example.  More of our family now reside in GLORY than is still here on earth because of my brother. I know they are all happy to be reunited with him and I pray to join them. John your stay here on earth was a blessing and example for us all. Even though I can't  be there I am sure I can speak for the rest of the family that you will always be walking beside us! I remember preaching at Temple Baptist a few years ago, and he was sitting on the front row listening, when I stepped off the platform, he reached out for my hand, and put $400.00 in it, and said great message , take this and buy you a new suit. He was always a blessing to me! 

Pastor Veal was our pastor for many years.  He and his beloved wife, Mary, came to see Bill and I right after we started attending Temple Baptist Church.  It was through his preaching that Bill truly surrendered his life to the Lord.  They are all together in their heavenly home now as Bro. Veal rejoins his wife and daughters, his parents, sister and brother, my beloved Bill and many others who have awaited his coming.   My sincere condolences to all the family.  Gone but not forgotten; He will forever be in our hearts.
