Oh dad , how I’m going to miss you at every turn . You were the strongest man I ever knew . A stoke couldn’t stop you , heart disease couldn’t stop you , prostate cancer , even a broken arm from way back when , you continued shoveling snow with your “good” arm . You were my rock , my protector and were always there for me whenever I needed you . How I will miss your cute Italian sayings and stories and jokes . All the rides you gave me to school , to pick up my best friend Chris Fox from work or just to bring her over to spend time with us . All the sleepovers we had joking and laughing until all hours of the night and you never complained , even though you had to work early in the morning . You worked so hard to give us a good life , cars , college , building our houses , nothing you wouldn’t do for us .  Now watch from above and give nonno , grandma and all our loved ones a hug from me . I will love and miss you forever dad .  Your job is done here and you get 10 for 10 . We met John some 30 years ago when he built the cabin up here. We became friends instantly. He was a great cook along with the many other things he was a master of.  Deer season will never be the same without you John. You will be missed

My beautiful Uncle Gino, you were someone I always looked up to for advice not only as an uncle but as a father figure. I remember just talking to you about what happened throught the day and being together as a family.   I love you, I will miss your kind face and cute laugh, more than words can say. I Remember the time you taught me how to make wine. We made 18 gallons together in one afternoon. I will cherish all the time we had. I will miss you and loved you more than I can say.
Now you are in heaven, our guardian angel , looking after Melina, Anthony, Nick, grandchildren and close family.   You will always be in our hearts forever.  
Melina, Anthony, Nick and Aunt Pat, I love you so much and am grieving your loss with you. I am praying God and Jesus and our Blessed Mother will give you peace and comfort in this most difficult time.   God bless you always.

Tony and Jerome are work buddies of mine for the last six years or so and Tony freely shares stories about his father - whether it was spending time with family up at their cottage, his early days in Italy, or hunting adventures and gun collection discussions, you could tell Tony values his time with his Dad and deeply loves his parents.  Peace be with you all during this hard time - and know that through you all Gino lives on!

I remember as a very young child he had one prized fig tree in his garden that he treated with kit gloves.. going through so much, wrapping it up for the winter and in the summer it would produce fruit but not a lot.. it was a link to his past and something extremely special to him, and the fruit it beared was more than just a tasty treat, it was a link to his past and it encompassed all the blood sweat and tears he endured through his young life; as well as the blood sweat and tears he put into growing that fig tree.. 

Even though it didn't grow many figs and it was such a difficult thing to keep going.. I'd come over on Sunday and see him in the garden and once he led me to his fig tree and picked the biggest one for me, and watched me eat it. He was so happy, gaining enjoyment from my enjoyment of it.. he told me it was special back then, but I was only 6 years old I didn't understand.. but being an adult, now looking back I understand he was sharing a piece of his/our legacy as a family; our past where we came from and what he was willing to do to have it continue on.. it may have been a homegrown fig but it was worth more than gold in some instances, I'll never forget that taste.. sweet with pride, tart from hardships, powerful yet humble origin with a smooth finish.. 

God bless you, Uncle Gino.. you're amongst the Angels now.. take care of the rest of your brothers and sisters up there, it's what you do best.. loving your family..
