Jeanne A. Riesterer, age 85, passed away at home on July 7, 2012, in Sterling Heights. Mrs. Riesterer was a graduate from St. Mary Catholic School in Mt. Clemens. She was a member of the class of 1947 at Siena Heights College. Mrs. Riesterer earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Wayne State University. She continued her learning by receiving a Master’s Degree in education from Wayne State, and a second Master’s Degree in psychology from the University of Detroit. Mrs. Riesterer was a retired school psychologist for the Anchor Bay School District. In 1981 she was elected Mayor of Roseville and served for 12 years. Mrs. Riesterer managed Sacred Heart cemetery over 30 years. She was appointed to the Archdiocesan Clergy Review Board. All the meanwhile, Mrs. Riesterer was a business woman and entrepreneur. She was also an avid seamstress. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph E. Riesterer, Jr.; loving mother of Raymond (Angela), Barbara, Michael (Mary Lou), John (Anna Marie), Joyce, Gerard (Pat), James (Ann), Richard (Susan), Matthew (Catherine), Andrew (Sue Ellen), and Rosemarie; dear grandmother of Deborah (Mike), Mark, Daniel, John (Amy), Amanda, Vickie (Rodney), Jeffrey (Stacy), Clare, Jack, Patrick, Joseph F., Breanne, Matthew, Elizabeth, Emily, Joseph T., Carly, and Madeline; proud great-grandmother of three. Mrs. Riesterer was predeceased by her grandson Christopher and five siblings. Visitation Monday, July 9, 3 – 9 p.m. and Tuesday, July 10, 2 – 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Scripture Service at Kaul Funeral Home, 27830 Gratiot Ave., Roseville. Visitation will continue Wednesday, July 11, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church with Bishop Walter Hurley presiding. , 21201 Thirteen Mile Rd., St. Clair Shores.
