Francesco Barracco, age 89, passed away on December 11, 2024. He was born on July 18, 1935 in Mazara Del Vallo, Sicily to his late parents Francesco and Paola Barracco. Francesco is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Margherita; loving sons: Frank (Jody), Anthony (Rose); dear grandchildren: Frank, Maria, Francesco, Julia, Antonino, Silvia, Alivia; and sister: Franca. He was preceded in death by his four siblings.
Francesco came from Italy to America when he was 30 years old. He met his wife shortly after coming to America and they married a few months later in 1965. They began their family by having Frank in 1966 and later having Anthony in 1970. He started his cement company in 1984 and began building houses full time in 1991. Francesco enjoyed working, hunting, fishing, and eating. Above all he loved his family and friends and spending time with them.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. (Instate 9:30 a.m.) at San Francesco Catholic Church, 22870 S. Nunneley, Clinton Twp. Entombment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Roseville, Michigan. Immediately following the entombment a luncheon will take place at the American Italian Cultural Society and Banquet Center, 43843 Romeo Plank, Clinton Twp.
