Eva Hannawi passed away Tuesday December 8, 2020 surrounded by her loving family at Henry Ford Select Hospital in Mt. Clemens. Eva was born December 29, 1934 in Harriman, Tenn. to the late Arthur and Eunice (Jones) Evans. She married Victor P. Hannawi in Toledo, Ohio on June 4, 1956. She will be sadly missed by her children Karen Hannawi, Mark Hannawi, Jill (Gregg) Bonnell, Myrna (John) Gleue, Kris (Charles) Mills, Patrick Hannawi, Grandchildren, Joey, Shaun, Jenny, Dawn, Jacob, Melinda, Bradley, Audrey, Johnny, Lucas, Katie, Ashley, Adam, David, Ryker, Payton, Tristan, Great Grandchildren, Michael, Madison, Caleb, Carson, Caine, Olive, Iris, Carter, Evangeline, Pre Deceased by her beloved husband of 61 years Victor P. Hannawi, along with all of her siblings, Charles, Claude, Don, Betty, Mary, Madelyn, Margie and Great Grand Daughter Scarlett.
Eva enjoyed life to the fullest, first and foremost she loved her family, playing cards (especially Poker), dancing the night away with her husband, falling snow, dining out, loved all animals but her favorites were her kitty’s Kit Kat and Precious, loved her Tennessee Vol’s and (unfortunately) the Detroit Lions, traveling to Switzerland, Paris, London, Las Vegas, Hawaii to name a few but the best trips were our family trips to Tennessee every summer to visit family.
Eva worked in Hematology as a Lab Technician for 35 years in Downtown Detroit at both Children’s Hospital and Harper Grace Hospital. She was great at her job and everyone loved working with her.
Eva’s humor will be missed by all who knew her. Her wit and delivery were quite skilled. She was never left speechless, and she pretty much spoke her mind, which that in itself was quite funny at times. She was deeply loved and fought so hard to stay and make new memories with us. She was the toughest human we have ever known, and we will miss her for the rest of our lives.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Margret of Scotland at 21201 13 Mile Rd. St. Clair Shores, MI at 12:00 pm on Wednesday December 16 2020.
