

Darlene M. Kmiecik, age 75, of Roseville, passed away December 27, 2011 at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan. Darlene was born to Peter & Erma (nee: Casper) Yosek in Detroit, Michigan on March 16, 1936. Mrs. Kmiecik was a House Manager for variuos priests in rectories throughout the Archdiocese of Detroit. Her life centered around her family and their kitchen. Baking and creating food for friends and neighbors was a hobby that Darlene enjoyed with her family, her daughters said. Darlene graduated from Denby High School in Detroit. She later met her husband John in a restaurant on Gratiot Avenue and they were married on December 17, 1958. She recently celebrated 53 years of marriage to her beloved husband John. Together they raised: Karen Patton, Colleen Kmiecik, Kathleen Kmiecik, Paul Kmiecik and Frances Kmiecik. Darlene loved and was loved by her six grandchildren: Jeffrey, Justin, Matthew, Shannon, Natalie and Lance and her two great-grandchildren Kelsey Graham and Dominic Dinsdale. Visitation will be Friday, December 30, 2011 from 3:00 - 9:00 p.m.at Kaul Funeral Home, 27830 Gratiot, Roseville, MI. A vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. On Saturday, December 31, 2011 visitation will continue from 9:30 until time of mass 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope-St. Germain Campus 28301 Little Mack at Martin, St. Clair Shores. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township.
