Pastor Clarence Eugene King of St. Clair Shores was born into eternity on October 8, 2021 at the age of 88. Clarence is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara, sister Judy Stewart, son Mark, daughter Kathleen McMahon (Corey), daughter in law Nora Baker (Stuart), and grandchildren Jonathan, Ethan, Connor, Alia and Carter. Predeceased by his parents Lawrence & Irene, sister Shirley and son David.
Clarence was born on July 20, 1933. He proudly served his country in the Naval Air core from 1952-1956 during the Korean War. He accepted Christ through the Catholic Charismatic Movement and spent several years as a traveling evangelist throughout the Midwest. Sensing the direction of the Lord to begin a new church, Rev. King started Healing for the Nations Fellowship in 1980. The church grew quickly and purchased property in Roseville, MI in 1983. Currently the church resides in Eastpointe, MI.
Clarence was involved for over 20 years with both radio and television outreach. He has authored 13 books, including 4 that are currently being printed in the local dialect of Nigeria, West Africa. In 1988 he received his BA in Theology from the International Seminary and Bible Institute. Clarence was also an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching Tiger baseball, Red Wing hockey and his beloved University of Michigan.
After his love of the Lord, he cherished his family more than anything.
Burial will be at Great Lakes Cemetery in Holly, MI on October 18th for family. A Memorial Service will be held at Healing for the Nations Christian Church 15717 Stephens, Eastpointe on Saturday, October 23rd at noon.
