He was born in Rocklin, CA, on April 30, 1931.
Bill attended Rocklin Elementary School and Roseville High School and later served in Korea with the U.S. Air Force. After his military service, Bill worked for the Department of the Air Force as an aircraft mechanic at the former Air Force Bases of Mather and McClellan in Sacramento, CA. Bill was an avid sportsman, hunting many western states with his hunting buddies. He also enjoyed spending time at the family cabin in Soda Springs, CA, that he helped build.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel Beneatta and Richard Stanley Ramsey, his stepfather John C. Peterson, his first wife Neoma, his second wife Barbara, his brother Stanley York, his sister and brother-in-law, Hazel Lois & Alex C. Freeland, and his nephew Ricky Marvin Freeland. Surviving family includes his nephews, David & Darin Freeland and their wives, Debbie & Manjula, great nieces & nephews, Rebecca Freeland, Nicole Reyes & husband Raymond, Miranda, Andrew and William Freeland.
