Born on 08 – 01 – 1933 in Blackwell, OK Passed on 12 – 01 – 2023 in Cameron Park, CA
Wanda grew up in Kansas with her parents, Wiley and Jemimah Bourne, and eight siblings. She graduated from high school in Burden, KS before meeting and marrying her first husband, Shelton Olmstead on May 31, 1952. Wanda soon gave birth to three beautiful children; Debra, Jerry, and Danny while living in Towanda, KS. During this time Wanda was active in the First Baptist Church, teaching both Sunday school and Vacation Bible School.
In 1965 Wanda and her family moved to Midwest City, OK where she went to work at a chiropractor’s office. They moved again in 1968 to Choctaw, OK to get out of the bustling city. The country treated Wanda and her young family well, with 2 acres for her children to explore and plenty of room to have animals and a garden. Wanda continued to be both a fabulous mother and continued her work for the chiropractor.
In 1973 they took on a new adventure and moved all the way out to California. First living in Loomis, CA and working for a chiropractor there, before settling in Roseville, CA to enjoy retirement in 1997. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Roseville. After 54 years of marriage, her husband Shelton passed away in 2006. She married Albert Santora on June 8, 2008, and they were married for 14 years before Albert passed in March 2023.
She was preceded in death by husbands Shelton Olmstead and Albert Santora; her son Danny Olmstead; her four sisters - Audrey, Betty, Alice, and Pat; and her three brothers – Voyd, Wayne, and Richard.
Wanda is survived and dearly missed by her daughter Debra Harris, her son Jerry Olmstead and his wife Eileen, and daughter-in-law Mandy Olmstead. Along with her sister Lula and her husband Marvin McMinn, and brothers-in-law Chester Powell and Charles Gregory. She is further survived and remembered by her 4 beloved grandchildren and their spouses; Matthew and Becky Harris, Jeremi and Angela Harris, Jennifer and R.J. Fiechter, Phillip and Alison Olmstead; and 5 great-grandchildren; Sierra Harris, Katie Woodman, Nolan Fiechter, Morgan Fiechter, and Maxwell Olmstead.
A graveside service for Wanda will be held Monday, December 11, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Roseville Cemetery, 421 Berry Street, Roseville, CA 95678.
