Shirley Petersen

1925 - 2013

Shirley passed away on February 20th, 2013 at the age of 88 years. She is survived by Robert, her husband of 59 years; two daughters, Jeri LaPord and Cathi Elliott; two sons, Bob Jones and Bill Jones. Shirley is also survived by her grandchildren, Bob, Michael, Lisa, Tyler and Bill. Shirley also had eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Shirley went to work for Allstate Insurance after her youngest child started school; and remained with them for 25 years. Upon retiring, Shirley was a tireless volunteer for Easter Seals for over 10 years, driving nearly forty miles round trip, five days a week, to help.

Shirley loved having family and friends over for dinner and events and would always try to do all of the work herself, even up into her later years. She would never quit.

Everyone knew when Shirley was in the room, because she filled it with her laughter. She will be greatly missed by all.
