Joseph Sitar was born in Sacramento, CA on August 24, 1955 and died peacefully in his sleep on November 26, 2010. SFC Joe Sitar honorably retired from the army in 1992 after serving 20 years. He served in many places over the 20 years. Some of the more memorable places included Berlin, Germany, the DMZ in Korea, Ft. Jackson, and Ft. Benning. Joseph Sitar was a Gulf War Veteran and served during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. During the Army, Joe worked hard to receive a bachelors and masters degree in management. After the Army, he started a career in retail. He was a manager for Circle K and Radio Shack and for almost six years worked at Home Depot as an inventory specialist.
Joe enjoyed many things during his life. He loved to cook, especially when he was barbecuing at the grill. Joe loved to read. He always had a book in his hand. Some of his favorite authors were Stuart Woods, Vince Flynn, James Patterson, and Michael Connelly. He also liked watching movies with his family. Joe’s favorite places in the world were Berlin, his hometown, Sacramento and Hawaii. He also loved hanging out with his dog, Sam. Sam was always attached to Joe and followed him everywhere.
Joe Sitar loved and was loved by the family he left behind. He is survived by his wife, Claudia and daughter, Amy. Joe also loved his son-in-law, Tom, his two grandchildren, Andy and Matt, as well as his sister, Patti and two brothers, George and Steve. Joe Sitar will be missed and loved forever.
