Bob Wilson, 92, was born in Oakland, California on October 23, 1927. He was married to his loving wife, Gwen Wandell Wilson, who tucked him into bed, kissed him goodnight, and told him she loved him. During the night, he passed away peacefully next to her and in the morning, March 23, 2020, she remarked, “I lost my sweetheart this morning.” They had been together for over 76 years!
Bob was a Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He served as Sergeant, Range and Safety Officer for Alameda County Sheriff’s Reserves for 25 years, and had belonged to the Sacramento Corvair Tour Group. He was an Engineering Manager for Pacific Telephone, retiring from there after 36 years of service without missing a single day!!
Bob is also survived by 2 of his 3 children, Robert (Bob) Adam Wilson III of Brentwood, California and Kathleen Anne Wilson-Carswell of Citrus Heights, California, 5 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
He has gone now to be with his son, Glenn Liston Wilson, Sr., decorated U.S. Navy Vietnam Veteran at The Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Igo, California.
