Norma Lee Hunter, age 82, born in Roseville, CA passed away in her home in North Highlands, CA with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her father, Glenn Herbert Harris, her mother, Lora Irene Harris and her husband of 46 years, Clare Edgar Hunter.
She is survived by her sisters Lois Glackin and Marjorie Shanahan and brothers Monte Harris and Herbert Harris, her son Ray Hunter (Joyce) her daughters Patty Lawhon (Jim) and Lorrie Blevins, her grandchildren Lorrie Tyler (Jason), Rebecca Duke (Jerry) and Ryan Blevins (Courtney), her great-grandchildren Cade, Raeya and Jax Blevins and Hunter, Emma and Olivia Laird, along with many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Norma will be remembered for her dedication to the community, involvement with little league baseball and cub scouts and endless amounts of patience and acceptance for all those around her. While she despised being the center of attention she will always be remembered for being the most giving and loving individual to all that knew her.
Norma’s occupations included working as an operator for the Roseville Telephone Company and the Rio Linda School District as a cafeteria manager for 27 years. She had a great passion for cooking, sewing, quilting, spending time at the cabin. Her favorite pastime was watching baseball, specifically the Oakland A’s.
She was greatly loved and will be truly missed by her entire family. The family would like to thank Dr. Liu of Kaiser Permanente Hospital along with the extraordinary care provided by Hospice nurses, Vicki and Yolanda.
Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing on Saturday, April 14th 2012 at 10 AM to 11 AM. The service will follow at 11 AM at Lambert Funeral Home, 400 Douglas Blvd Roseville CA 95678.
