John Nunes DaCosta

Died peacefully March 9, 2016 at his home in Auburn, CA surrounded by his loving family. Born April 7, 1929 in Sacramento, to Manual and Theresa DaCosta. He graduated from Grant Union High School. He was a US Army Korean war decorated Veteran. He retired after 41 years from the Southern Pacific/Union Pacific Railraod. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and 49er fan. Proceeded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years, Vada Mae DaCosta. Survived by his children, Patty Bowen (Bill), Dean Woliver (Debbie), Tami Woliver, Dan Cowen, Sherron Lang (Tom), Jim Woliver. He had 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. He was a member of the Elks Lodge. Graveside services will be held at Roseville Cemetery, 421 Berry St. Roseville, CA. Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Celebration of Life to follow at his son's (Dean). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Green Valley Hospice Foundation in memory of John DaCosta.
