Jared Wayne Zlotkowski passed peacefully at home on Monday, May 30th, 2016. A resident of Roseville, California since 1985, Jared was born in Clovis, New Mexico on July 26, 1979. He was a 1997 graduate of Oakmont High School.
Jared leaves behind a loving family: his mother, Terry Zlotkowski of Roseville, CA; his father, Mark Zlotkowski, and his wife Debbie, of Sparks, NV; his brothers, Matthew and Jay Zlotkowski of Roseville, CA; his maternal grandmother, Cinda Dotson of Albuquerque, NM; his aunts and uncles, James and Linda Dotson, Ron and Brenna Dotson, Karla and Steve Binkley, and Karen Treibel, all of Albuquerque, NM; and cousins, Jessica, Nichol, Stephanie, Devon, Avery, Adam, Ashley, and their children; and his many close friends. Jared was preceded in death by: his maternal great grandmother, Joanna Highfill; his maternal grandfather, William S. Dotson; and his paternal grandparents, Edward and Ruth Zlotkowski.
Jared was an electrician by trade, following in the footsteps of his uncles, James and Ron Dotson and great uncles, Bob and Dan Highfill. Soccer filled his hours while growing up in Roseville. He played for Placer United and San Juan Soccer Clubs for eight years and at Oakmont High School for four years. Later he turned in the soccer ball for rock climbing gear and was a constant fixture at Pipeworks, a rock climbing gym in Sacramento. Bishop, CA was a favorite destination to climb. Recently, Jared had returned to school to study to be a physical therapist. His commitment to physical fitness, his quick smile and charm, and his love of people would have made a difference to patients. Jared loved his family, friends and animals. His kindness and acceptance of everyone he met leaves a hole that will be difficult to fill. We will always love you, Jared.
A private cremation will be held by Lambert Funeral Home in Roseville, CA. (www.lambertfuneral.com) In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to www.semperfifund.org in Jared’s honor, an organization that supports post-9/11 injured and critically ill members of the United States Armed Forces and their families. A celebration to honor Jared will be held in July for his family and friends.
