Jane, 65, entered into Heaven on July 16, 2012 in Citrus Heights, CA with her family by her side. She is survived by her daughters Laura Rosing and Michele Bohren, son-in-law Kelly Bohren, sister Mary Ann Salapow, nephews; Michael Mossbauer and Michael Salapow, nieces; Kim and Dana Bobnes, cousin Billy Lewis and her precious granddaughters Jaidyn and Gianna, who were the light of her life.
Paul and Helen Mossbauer welcomed Jane into the world on January 12, 1947 in Conneaut Lake, PA. She was the first born of four into this Irish German family. Her father was a scientist for a government agency. Her mother worked in the banking industry for Mellon Bank and PNB. She grew up in the Brentwood Borough of Pittsburgh, PA attending Catholic school through 8th grade and graduating from Brentwood High School in 1964. She moved often over the next 20 years as part of an Air Force family, going to Ohio (twice), Pennsylvania, Texas (twice) and then California.
Education was important to her. She became an Assistant Professor at Wright State University after she earned her Bachelor and MBA degrees. She then utilized her education and began a long and notable career in Human Resources, having worked at Robbins and Meyers, SMUD, the Placer County Water Agency, and Arinc, to name a few. After moving to Annapolis Maryland in 1994, she returned to California in 2002 after her first granddaughter was born. While she loved the east coast, she wanted to live near her grandchildren and be a part to their lives. For the past 9 years, Jane worked for Kaiser Permanente before retiring this year.
While working hard, she never lost sight of enjoying life outside of work. She traveled extensively and enjoyed learning about other cultures. Her visits to France, Ireland, Italy, and Japan were highlights, and her most recent travels included an Alaskan cruise with her sister and a special Mexican Disney cruise with her granddaughters. She was proud to say she had visited all but two of the fifty states. She found enjoyment in cooking and participating in local scrabble and wine tasting clubs and made long lasting friends along the way. While she was health conscience and played many sports; golfing, snow skiing and swimming, she recently enjoyed the role as a vocal spectator. She would root on her granddaughters at their soccer games as well as wave her “terrible towel” watching the Pittsburgh Steelers with her daughters during football season.
Jane was a beautiful person both inside and out. Her warmth, kindness, and positive outlook made her a wealth of friends. She was a vibrant woman who was dignified, graceful, educated, and full of life and positive energy. She lived life to the fullest, both personally and professionally.
Jane has now joined her parents, Paul Francis and Helen Jane Mossbauer, and her deceased siblings, Kathryn Bobnes and Paul G. Mossbauer up in Heaven. A Memorial and Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 29th 2012, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Flower Farm Inn, 4150 Auburn Folsom Road, Loomis, CA. Please add your memories, prayers and wishes to her memorial page at www.lambertfuneral.com. Your words will mean much to her family and for generations to come as the read your stories in the life of Jane Rosing.
Jane was very frustrated by the lack of funding for Lung Cancer, especially as a non-smoker. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death among both men and women. Each year, more people die of lung cancer than of colon, breast, and prostate cancers combined. In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation to the Lung Cancer Alliance at https://donate.lungcanceralliance.org/sslpage.aspx?pid=298 in honor of Jane. If you’d like to send flowers / planters, please send them to the Flower Farm Inn on Saturday July 28, 2012.
Thank you for being a part of Jane’s life. When you hear the birds chirping look to the skies above and know she is looking down upon you.
