Doris is preceded in death by her parents Bill and Gladys Sales, Brother Jimmy Tripp, Sisters Polly Foster and Marsha Sperr, and Son Mike Klemin. She is survived by Sister Alice Sorgman, Daughters Debbie Mattson (Rick) and Sandy Siegrist (Gordon), Six Grandchildren Matthew Klemin, Alisha Naturale, Kevin Naturale, Jennifer Katsma, Steven Miles and Kristen Klemin, and Six Great-Grandchildren (Riley, Mason, Bryce, Cole, Joshua, and Christopher) who affectionately called her Oma.
While Doris was born in Oklahoma, at age three the family moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico and then to Roseville, California in 1946. She competed, won the crown and became the Placer County Queen of 1950. She graduated from Roseville High School and then started working for the State of California in 1951 as a Key Punch Operator. She was working as a Computer Programmer, when she took a disability retirement in 1989 and was placed on the list for a heart transplant. She received her new heart on March 9, 1990. Family and friends have enjoyed helping her celebrate what we have called her “Heart Birthday” for 32 years.
At different stages of her life, she enjoyed dancing, bowling, camping, fishing, throwing horseshoes (and later bean bags), playing cards, having family gatherings and especially spending time with her grandkids.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, May 16, 2022 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Roseville Seventh Day Adventist Church, 914 Cirby Way, Roseville, CA 95661.
