Donald Ray Sharp was born on April 21, 1950 in Los Angeles, Ca. and passed away on April 13, 2025 in Roseville, Ca. He was preceded in death by his parents Francis and Annabelle McClain Sharp; also his older sisters Peggy, Carol, Wanda and Sharon.
He is survived by his sister Sandra and his partner of 40 years, Linda Daveler. Also he leaves behind two special dogs: the famous Guster and the infamous Frodo.
Don enjoyed cooking, doing home improvement, computer projects, trivia games, chess, movies, music, playing guitar, singing, composing songs and writing plays. In 1984, as part of the Showmasters production group, he wrote lyrics for “All Aboard the Roseville Special” which was performed locally.
During the Vietnam War, he served in the Air Force, at Offutt AFB, SAC Headquarters, where he worked in intelligence and participated in award ceremonies honoring those who served overseas. He achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Don worked for nearly 25 years for the State of California, DMV, where he met Linda and made many good friends.
Don had an infectious sense of humor and bright blue eyes that sparkled with little boy mischief. He also had the ability to really listen and was genuinely compassionate. He was loved by many people.
One of his greatest achievements was learning the basic positions of ballet. Even when he was in hospice care, he kiddingly offered to do a pirouette.
He gave his heart and soul to the Lord when he was a child and his sister Peggy was his Sunday school teacher. He never lost that childhood faith.
He was a “flibbertigibbit, a clown”, but he was lovingly dedicated to his family.
A visitation for Donald will be held Monday, April 21, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM at Lambert Funeral Home, 400 Douglas Blvd, Roseville, CA 95678. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Roseville Cemetery, 421 Berry St, Roseville, CA 95678.
