Clara Louise (Cirby) Shuper—Longtime Roseville-Citrus Heights area resident “Ease” Shuper passed away on April 11th after a brief illness. Born August 29, 1930, Ms. Shuper was a proud fourth-generation Californian and a descendent of Roseville pioneer George Kirk Cirby.

Her survivors include three children: Terry Altomari (wife Janice), Mark, and Mary Rastler (husband David); as well as a niece Jean Robins (husband John ); three grandchildren (Mindy, John and Paul); six great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
Ease Shuper will be remembered by many Roseville residents as the “cafeteria lady,” having served as the director of the Roseville Grammar School District cafeteria system for over 20 years. A recent Facebook post by the Roseville Historical Society elicited enthusiastic responses from residents recalling favorite dishes and inquiring into recipes from their school days. She was also a proud 75-year member of The Order of the Eastern Star and a longtime member of the Roseville Emblem Club.
Funeral services will be held at Lambert Funeral Home on April 29 at 11 am. A reception at the Roseville Elks Lodge will follow the service. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to one of Ms. Shuper’s favorite charities: Shriners Children’s Hospital of Northern California, Habitat for Humanity, or The Nature Conservancy.
