meaningful and lasting ways.
Born in Englewood, Colorado as the second of three
sisters, Amanda was always a mysteriously beautiful,
insightful child and old soul. Her whole life she easily and
unknowingly captured the attention of people and animals
of all ages, genders, colors, and sizes with her angelic, yet
bold and charismatic presence.
Amanda made her home in Castle Rock, Colorado, as
well as in Rocklin, North Lake Tahoe, and San Mateo,
California.
Athletic like her Dad, she excelled in soccer and was a fearless and fast skier.
She was up for any adventure in the forests and cities of the west
coast and couldn’t be missed with her signature curls,
flashy green eyes, dazzling smile, charming laughter, and her sharp, feisty wit.
She was openhearted and approachable, and had a genuine
love for people and animals. She was a catalyst for many happy
gatherings on the shores of Lake Tahoe and beaches of Half Moon Bay.
She lived for a short three years in San Mateo where she attended
her father’s Alma Mater Aragon High School. She “kicked butt” (a favorite saying)
at her customer service jobs where she became a quick and
true friend of regulars and coworkers: she gracefully weaved through busy
nights at long time local favorite Rainbow Pizza in San Mateo,
and early mornings at Starbucks in Squaw Valley and Rocklin.
Amanda was part of a big and widespread family, who feel
incredibly blessed to have shared 19 years with her.
She is survived by sisters Sarah and Emma and parents
Marc and Deanna of Rocklin, grandparents Mary Pat Tormey of Sonoma,
Nora and Mickey Daniels of North Lake Tahoe, Steve M. Mikol of Roseville,
and dozens of loving and special friends, uncles, aunts, cousins, and last but
definitely not least, her faithful companion and “baby,” Cali the dog.
Your love and support of our family is what’s
going to get us all through this, together.
Love, The Tormey Family
