Alberto was born on February 28, 1980 in Tracy, California to Alberto and Yolanda Amezquita. After Alberto graduated from Tracy High School in 1998, he received a Bachelor of Science in Physiology from UC Santa Barbara, Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Barry University (Miami, FL), and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of San Diego.
Alberto married the love of his life, Alyssa, in 2017 and was blessed with two beautiful children, Violet (3), and Ronan (7 months). Alberto and Alyssa enjoyed traveling, going to the beach, riding bikes on the American River Trail, dancing, cooking together, and spending time with family and friends.
Alberto passionately served in the medical field and held various positions at the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento for over nine years, including Pediatric and Cardiac Intensive Care Unit Nurse, Patient Care Quality and Safety Nurse, and Critical Care Transport Nurse. He began his nursing career caring for Veterans at the Long Beach VA Hospital and interned at Scripps La Jolla in their Emergency/ Trauma Department while completing his nursing degree.
Alberto loved to make people laugh and had a great sense of humor. He was a sports car fanatic and enjoyed fixing things around the house. Alberto was an avid learner and had a deep interest in math, science, and history. He was also very creative and had a true knack for drawing, especially funny characters, and pop culture icons. Alberto lived his life in service to others and always sought to make a difference in this world – and he did just that.
Alberto will be deeply missed and admired as a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Alyssa Amezquita, daughter, Violet Amezquita, son, Ronan Amezquita, father, Alberto Antonio Amezquita, Sr., mother, Yolanda Amezquita, sister, Vanessa Carrera, brother-in-law, Alberto Carrera, nephew, Alonzo Carrera, and numerous loving family members and friends.
