Tracy Samantha Lawler, 61, passed peacefully on September 22, 2023 after an extended illness. She was born March 26, 1962 in Rome, GA, the daughter of Robert LaFayne Lawler and Helen Ruth “Ruthie” (Smith) Lawler.
Tracy graduated from Pepperell High School, class of 1980. Following graduation she obtained a double associates degree in General Education and French from Floyd Junior College in 1983. She went on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in Romance Languages in 1986 from the University of Georgia. She was a member of Gamma Kappa Alpha (U.S. National Italian Honor Society) and Phi Delta (U.S. National French Honor Society). She had a brilliant mind. Tracy spoke to five (5) languages: American English, Italian, French, British English, and American Sign Language.
Tracy cultivated a love of language and the European way of life while studying French in high school and later Italian in college. She was blessed to study abroad on two (2) occasions. This passion led her to move to Italy in 2000. She lived in Siena, Italy from 2000 – 2016 during which time she married and started a family. She lived for her two (2) sons.
Tracy is survived by her sons, Marco and Giulio Secciani; her father, Robert L. Lawler, her brother, Jamie Lawler and his wife, Kristen, his children, Brandi, Brice, and Joshua, his grandchildren, Natalie and Landon; her sister Andrea (Lawler) West and her children, Ashley, Brittany and Devin; her sister, Sabrina (Lawler) Giles, and her son Chip; her sister-in-law, Kristie Morgan Lawler, and her son Kody. Tracy is preceded in death by her mother, Ruthie Lawler, and her brother, Adrian Lawler.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at Daniels Funeral Home, 901 E 2nd Ave, Rome, GA 30161, on September 30, 2023 from 4 to 6 p.m. No other formal services will be held.
