Mrs. Paula Eileen Morris age 66 of Windwood Way, Rome died Wednesday afternoon following an extended illness.
Mrs. Morris was born September 3, 1944 in Knox County TN. Daughter of the late Paul E. McGill and Laura Lord McGill. Mrs. Morris had worked for a number of years with the Thyssen Krupp Corp. as a receiving agent. Mrs. Morris was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rome, the Joy Sunday School Class and volunteered with the First Christian Church Soup Kitchen, the Davies’ Homeless Shelter and the JDF Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Mrs. Morris had a passion for food and traveling, a true adventuresome spirit.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Anne Failing in 1994.
Survivors include: her husband, Robert Morris, son and daughter-in-law, Michael Morris and wife Nona, Bynum, AL; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl Ann Dembinski and her husband John, Garden City, MI; brother, Paul E. McGill II, New Haven, CO; sister, Pam Edmons, Rome; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service will be held Sunday 3 p.m. in the chapel of the First Baptist Church of Rome with Dr. Joel Snider and her son Michael Morris officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 p.m. until the service hour at the church.
The family respectfully asked in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor New York, NY 10004.
