Mrs. Shiflett was born in Rome, GA. February 15, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Ollie Newton Lackey and Myrtle Bobo Lackey. She was married to the late Paul Woodfin Shiflett, of Rome, for over sixty five years.
She is survived by three daughters: Suzanne Jones, Rome, Sandra McKibben, Woodstock, and Linda Shiflett, Cedartown; two grandchildren: Michael Mosely, Rome, and Amanda Atkinson, Greer, SC; two great-granddaughters: Karen DeYoung, Rome and Nora Atkinson, Greer, SC, and one great-grandson: Charles Atkinson also of Greer, SC. Two sisters-in-law: Myra Patterson and Jean Traylor Dreher of Cleveland, GA. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family received friends at Daniel’s Funeral Home Friday evening June 5, 2015 from 6 pm until 8 pm. A private memorial service will take place at a later date.
