Mildred Taylor Lindsey, age 88, passed away on Tuesday July 25, 2017. She was born September 10, 1928 in Spartanburg, South Carolina to Ollie Geneva (Lowe) Tobias (Noonie) and James Everett Tobias. She was a graduate of Greer High School in South Carolina and moved to Georgia with her parents. She was preceded in death by her husbands Ronald Conyers Taylor (1976) and Robert Oscar Lindsey (1994).
She was a housewife and mother as well as later employed by Trend Mills Carpets in Plainville. She was an active member of West Rome Baptist Church where she had attended for over 20 years. She also volunteered at Floyd Hospital for many years.
She is survived by her children Allison Taylor Owen (Terrell), Terri Taylor Holcomb (Noel), Alicia Lindsey Kappel (Richard). Grandchildren, Kim Kappel Mullholand (Brian) Rick Kappel (Emily), Jennie Owen Van Houten (Ryan), William James Owen, Ronald Taylor Owen (who preceded her in death), Sarah Heath Owen, Zane Holcomb. Great Grandchildren: Lindsey, Taryn, and Maggie Mullholand; Ricky, Lucas, and Chloe Kappel; and Karsyn and Owen Van Houten.
The family received friends at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2017 at Daniel's Funeral Home, 901 East 2nd Avenue, Rome, Georgia. A funeral service followed at 11:00 a.m. in the Thomas B. Griffin Chapel at the funeral home with the Rev. Jarrod Roberts officiating. Interment was at Dodd Cemetery in Plainville, Georgia.
