Born in Atlanta, Georgia on June 2, 1925, she was the eldest of three children of the late William Earl and Kathleen Wiggins. After graduating from Rome Girls High, she married John Carl Pinson on July 25, 1942, shortly before he was inducted into the U.S. Army and shipped out to fight in the Pacific Theatre of World War II.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Pinson; and by one son, Jerry Wayne Pinson.
She is survived by two sons; Bill Pinson (Linda) of Cedar Bluff, Alabama, and Jim Pinson (Ann) of Rome, Georgia. She is also survived by grandchildren; Daniel (Sam) Pinson of Cedar Bluff, Alabama; John (Meghan) Pinson of Bailey, Colorado; Cooper (Katie) Pinson of Rome, Georgia; Melissa (Jason Craig) Rasmussen of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Julie (Craig) Furneisen of Virginia; as well as twelve great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a lifetime member of Second Avenue Baptist Church in Rome, Georgia, where she served many leadership roles.
A service honoring her life will be held on Thursday, March 30, at Second Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Monty Stallins officiating. Visitation will be in the sanctuary from 10:00 am-11:00 am with the service immediately following. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Memorial Gardens for family and close friends.
Margaret was defined by devotion to her husband, her family, and her church. A full life well lived by a lady whose generation was molded by the tribulations and ideals of a Great Depression, a World War, and a simpler time when family and extended family were the center points of life.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Second Avenue Baptist Church Memorial Endowment Fund.
Special thanks to the staff at Brookdale Senior Living Center who loved and cared for her during the past two years. Also, much appreciation to the Emergency staff at Advent Health/Redmond and Army Nation, Traditions Health Hospice who so gently attended in her final hours.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.Daniels-FuneralHome.com for the Pinson family.
