Lori Christine George

Lori was the Executive Director of DIGS, Inc. in Rome. Prior to coming to DIGS, Inc., she was the Community Relations and Special Events Manager with the Rome Braves. She also was a Children’s Department Assistant the Rome-Floyd County Library for numerous years. Additionally, she was an annual volunteer/counselor at Kiki’s Kids Camp for diabetic children. She was a 2010 graduate of Armuchee High School, and completed a majority of the coursework toward a college degree.

Lori was the daughter of Gail Pitts, and Steve George of Rome. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Roy and Juanita Pitts of Rome, and Julius and Pearly George of Cave Spring.

She is survived by her parents, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Lori loved spending time with her family, friends, her dog Lucy, and genuinely helping

anyone in need. Her helpful spirit also aided her rescuing dogs, in order to find them a good home. Lori shared so much good with so many.

Lori loved God and Jesus Christ our Lord, and knew Christ as her Savior.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 5, 2024 from 4 o'clock in the afternoon unit 8 o'clock in the evening at Daniel's Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to: DIGS, INC PO Box 1053 ROME, GA 30162.

A private family interment will be held at a later date.
