Born August 26, 1926 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to the late Lee H. Dudley and Mary Tirrell Dudley, she attended Washburn High School and Macalester College. On February 3, 1949, she married Robert W. Midkiff. She worked as a school teacher and for the Northern States Power Co. Judith lived in Minneapolis until 1982, when she moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico where she lived for 26 years before spending a year and a half with her sister in Colorado. After continuing health issues, she moved to Rome, Georgia in 2009 to be near her grand-daughter.
Judith was a member of Transfiguration Episcopal Church in Rome, Georgia and was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, the Izaak Walton League of America, The Mayflower Society, and Daughters of the American Revolution. She was an accomplished singer and avid supporter of animal rights, adopting many homeless dogs in her lifetime.
Mrs. Midkiff was preceded in passing by her husband, Robert Wallace Midkiff and daughter Leslie Lee Buscher.
Survivors include her sister, Blythe Boyes and her husband Bill of Chesapeake, Virginia; granddaughters Charlotte Jones and her husband Todd of Rome, Georgia and Meredith Bowman and her husband Ben of Lakeway, Texas; and two great-grandchildren Kaylee and Jarred Jones of Rome, Georgia; as well as many dear friends.
She was loved by all and will be dearly missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to know her. A Memorial service was held on Sunday, February 21, at 3:00 PM at Transfiguration Episcopal Church, 304 Coker Drive SW, Rome, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be mailed directly to her beloved church, Transfiguration Episcopal Church.
