Helen Parsons Lane passed away peacefully at a Local Health Care Facility on March 7, 2018. Mrs. Lane was born February 11, 1923 in Knoxville, Tennessee, the daughter of Howell Evan Parsons and Myrtle Barnett Parsons. She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Samuel Berry Lane and twin brothers Bill and Phil Parsons.
A longtime resident of Rome, Georgia, Mrs. Lane attended Rome City Schools and graduated from Girls High. Always involved in community endeavors, she served in earlier years as president of the Northside P. T. A. and as a popular Cub Scout Leader. As a member of the First United Methodist Church, she attended the Upper Room Fellowship Class, United Methodist Women and served on the Bereavement Committee. Helen Lane was well known in Garden Club Circles having received the Georgia State Designer of the Year Award and the Rome Federation Live Oak Award. She was a member of the Spade and Trowel Garden Club in Rome and the Creative Study Club of Atlanta. She enjoyed the status of a Master Flower Show Judge for more than forty years. Her devotion to her Precious Lord, Family, Friend s, Flowers, and Flower Arranging were the center of her well lived life.
Survivors include a son, Michael (Glenda), Daughter Denise (Greg). Three Grandson: Mark Lane, David Lane and Sam Brown. Two Great, Great Grandsons,
