
He was a precious son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend and a beloved physician to children for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy, to whom he was married for 65 years, his daughters; Marchant Starr Reutlinger, her husband, Dr. Barton Reutlinger, of Louisville, Kentucky, Virginia Starr Gunther, her husband, Steve Gunther, of Rome, Georgia; and also his son, Harlan McKinney Starr III, his wife, Sheila Starr, of Cedar Bluff, Alabama, his grandchildren; Fox Reutlinger Ritchay, her husband, David Ritchay of Louisville, Kentucky, Whitney Marchant Reutlinger, his wife, Courtney Reutlinger, of Venice, Florida, Nancy Starr Gunther or Atlanta, Georgia, John Harrison Gunther of Atlanta, Georgia and Mary Marchant Starr or Cedar Bluff, Alabama; his great grandchildren Barton, Virginia, and Charlotte Ritchay of Louisville, Kentucky.
A Memorial Service was held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, of which he was a life member, on Tuesday, April 30th at 11:00am.
Honorary Pallbearers were Frank Barron, Hendrick Cromartie, Bill Davis, Will Enloe, Scott Henson, Bob Ledbetter Sr., Bernard Neal, Tom Saltino, Soc Sennett, Charlie Shaw, George Thomason, Ed Watson and Gardner Wright.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Rome, Georgia or to the Darlington Learning Center Endowment at Darlington School, 1014 Cave Spring Rd. SW Rome, Georgia, 30161.
