Doris Rebecca Beard

Mrs. Beard was born in Floyd County on August 24, 1930, daughter of the late Waring Best Jones and Gladys Dawson Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy G. Beard on August 16, 2010.

Mrs. Beard was a member of the Rome Church of Christ for many years. She retired from Northwest Georgia Hospital after many years of service. Mrs. Beard enjoyed cross stitching and crocheting.

Survivors include a son, David Beard of Calhoun; a daughter, Leigh Wilson and her husband, Steve of Cave Spring, GA; a sister, Frances Jones Hardin of Rome; a nephew, KIen Hardin of Rome and a special cousin, Carla Williams of Atlanta.

Funeral services for Mrs. Beard were held on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Griffin Memorial Chapel of Daniel’s Funeral Home. The family received friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service.

Flowers were accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Rome Church of Christ, 121 Primrose Road, Rome, Georgia 30161.
