Diana was a graduate of Northwestern University School of Journalism and a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. At college, she met Dan Jarrett Shadday. They married on July 30, 1960. While living in Bronxville NY, she became an active member in the Junior League, as well as the American Yacht Club and Siwanoy Country Club.
After moving to Rome GA in 1976, she became the Executive Director of the Greater Rome Convention and Visitors Bureau. For the next 20 years, she “sold” Rome using her charisma, creativity, and vision to bring in millions of tourism dollars to Floyd County every year. Her leadership, service to the community and love for people affected many in the community.
She was an active member in both the Coosa Country Club and the Bald Head Island Country Club in North Carolina where she enjoyed playing golf and generally having a good time with friends and family.
Once retired in 1996, she continued to enjoy spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and friends who were dear to her.
She lived a life full of passion, beauty and fun and brought enthusiasm to everything she endeavored.
A member of the Rome First Presbyterian Church, she had a strong faith and trust in God.
Diana is survived by her son, Jarrett Shadday, her daughter-in-law, Holly Shadday, her grandchildren: Jay, Jacquelyn, Gamble, Mary Marshall and Evie Shadday, her daughter, Allison Shadday, her son-in-law, Sven Haarhoff, her nephew Brad Shadday, his wife Christy Shadday and their son’s Tanner and Spencer, her brother Leonard Eaton Jr., his wife Patty Eaton and their children Leslie, Pam and Alex Eaton, as well as her Nieces Cynthia and Diana Hull and her nephew Jeffery Hull. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Dan Jarrett Shadday, her sister Leslie Hull and her parents Dr. Leonard Eaton and Alice Eaton.
The family wishes to express deep gratitude to the caregivers, Dr. Herren and the staff at Brookdale who cared for Mrs. Shadday.

The family will be receiving friends and celebrating Diana's life at First Presbyterian Church (King Hall), Rome, Ga. on Thursday Jan. 18 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. A private memorial service will be held at a later date in Bald Head Island, NC.
She will be remembered for her joy of life! She was the 'Toast of the Town!'
