Dianna was born in LaFayette, GA July 5, 1945 daughter of Robert B. and Betty J. McGahan Phillips. She graduated from North Georgia Technical College, Clarksville, GA at the age of 19 as a medical technologist. Dianna was a resident of Rome most of her life and worked as a medical technologist prior to joining her husband in his State Farm Insurance Agency. After his death she retired to Blue Ridge and attended the McCaysville Church of God. Dianna was preceded in death by her son Daniel Lyndon Pinkard, JR (Lanny) in 1998 and her husbandDaniel Lyndon Pinkard Sr. in 2008.
She is survived by her only daughter Lisa Pinkard Acree (Brent) and one grandson Ryan Danforth Acree, 9 years old. Ryan was and will always be the “apple of her eye” and her greatest joy. Her dearest role in this life was Grandma, and Ryan affectionately called her “Ninny”. Other survivors include her parents Robert B. and Betty J. Phillips of Copper Hill, TN; mother in law Faye Pinkard of Rockmart, GA; Sister Cheryl Tipton (Roy) of Blue Ridge, GA; Sisters in law Elaine Stegall (Don) of Canton, GA and Toni Crutchfield of Rome; Brothers in law Tommy Pinkard (Diane) and Lowell Pinkard (Luann) both of Rome. Several nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 30 at 3 PM at the Second Avenue Baptist Church with the Reverends Steve Lamb, Julia Youngblood, and Tommy Crutchfield officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 until 2:30 Pm at Daniel’s.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers:Reed Biggers, Steve Rood, Bruce Rood, Lowell Pinkard, Roy Tipton, and Toby Cromer.
