Mrs. Naiser was born in Athens, Ohio, on December 22, 1935, daughter of the late Robert Orville Ewing and Julia Elizabeth Stanley Ewing. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Fred J. Naiser, and newborn daughter, Cynthia Louise Naiser.
Mrs. Naiser graduated from Hamel Business College with a degree in secretarial administration. She was later employed by Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company as a member of the secretarial pool. There she met and later married her lifelong partner and husband, Fred J. Naiser.
After raising their four children, Carolyn Naiser was employed by the Book Rack for 14 years.
Mrs. Naiser was a member of St. Mary’s Church. She has been a member of the Adult Choir for 30+ years, a charter member of the Adult Handbell Choir until 2013, and St. Mary’s coordinator for Meals on Wheels for 11+ years.
She is survived by daughter Becky Self (Lydell) of Rome, son Robert Naiser (Cheri Whoric) of Whitesburg, GA, daughter Valerie A Goehring (Pat Green) of Indian Harbor Beach, FL, and son David Naiser (Melissa) of Cartersville, GA. Grandchildren are Cheryl Self, Eric Self, Brandon Self, Cindy Schoultz, Davey Godwin, Ashley Naiser, Amber Naiser, and great-grandchildren Cameron and Carter. Her surviving sisters are Betty Lou South of Sun City West, AZ; Barbara Gahr of Apopka, FL; and Eleanor Lansell of Parma Heights, OH.
A funeral mass was held Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at 12 noon at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Patrick Kingery and Deacon Stuart Neslin officiating. A Rosary was said at 11:30 a.m. prior to the service.
A reception will follow the service in the Parish Hall of the church.
Interment will follow at a later date in St. Mary’s Memorial Garden.
The family received friends at Daniel’s Funeral Home on Monday, March 2, 2015, from 5 until 7 p.m.
