Brenda Sue Kelley

Mrs. Brenda Sue Kelley, age 76 of Kingston, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023. She was born on July 12, 1947 in Rome, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late R. J. Brown and Louise Goddard Brown.

Mrs. Kelley is preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Kelley is survived by her husband Charles W. Kelley, whom she married on May 19, 1966 in Rome, Ga.; son, Timothy Wayne Kelley; brother-in-law Gary Warren Kelley and wife Tammy; sister-in-law Donna Barton Kelley Simons and her husband Douglas; only grandson, Korey Fowler and wife Shannon and their daughter Wrenn. Several nephews, cousins and other extended family also survive.

Mrs. Kelley was a longtime resident of Floyd County Georgia. She attended North Rome Elementary, East Rome Jr. High, East Rome High and Berry College. At the later she studied accounting focusing on a CVT Diploma and Certificates in Accounting. She was also involved heavily in community service with the TPA Scholarship Trust fund for deaf and near deaf children. Her involvement included attending meetings on the county, state and national level. She was also known to be an integral part of working the national conventions for scholarships for the deaf. Even through her many years of battle with Alzheimer’s she was still a caring, sharing and loving person to all she encountered.

In her personal life Mrs. Kelley was a dedicated Christian belonging to Barnsley United Methodist Church, previously she had attended North Rome United Methodist Church. She worked for both Dellinger INC. and Morgan Hunt Oil CO., from which she retired, as a secretary and accountant. Being especially fond of sailing and an avid traveler Mrs. Kelley has traveled to 45 of our states and multiple countries including; Mexico, Canada, Hawaii, Maui, Greenland, Tokyo Japan, Rome Italy, Venice, London, and several islands in the Bahamas. Some of her other passions were working with her Bees, which included being a member of the Floyd County Bee Association and all kinds of needlework.

A casual dress visitation will be held for Mrs. Brenda Sue Kelley on Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 6:30 in the evening until 8:00 in the evening at Daniels Funeral Home.

The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to Barnsley United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Brenda Radke, at 875 Youngs Mill Rd. Kingston Ga. 30145.
