Steven Wayne “Steve” Zimmerman, 70, a long-time Rogers business owner and resident passed away Sunday, July 10, 2022. He was born September 27, 1951 in Independence, Kansas to the late Wayne and Beverly June Mercer Zimmerman. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Cheryl Hall. Following graduation from Independence High, he continued on to Independence Community College, Independence, Kansas where he played college football. He and his football team formed an everlasting family of friends “forever” relationship. They recently held a 50-year reunion celebrating their win over Coffeyville, Kansas. He graduated with a Bachelor degree in General Contracting from Pittsburg State University. His support and involvement with Pitt State continued throughout his life. Steve loved spending time with his family, working, and playing, outdoors! He enjoyed fishing, hunting, skiing, but above all, being Captain of his boat surrounded with his friends and family. Mr. Zimmerman, and his wife, owned and operated Midland Construction of Rogers since 1989, and he was a passionate supporter of the Children's Advocacy Center of Benton County and Horses for Healing. Steve also served on the board of directors of Grand Savings Bank, and had been a previous member of Rogers Morning Rotary Club, Living Word Lutheran Church of Rogers, and NRA. Steve will be long remembered for being loving, respectful, compassionate, and generous to all he met, including giving his Cross necklaces to anyone who admired them. Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years, Jacqueline Zimmerman; his daughter, Courtney (Chuck) McAllister of Bentonville; his sons, Shane (Julie) Zimmerman of Rogers and Brian Reedy of Cherryville, Kansas; granddaughters, Danielle (Dustin) Thomas of Moore Oklahoma, Austyn and Emma Cravey of Rogers; grandson, Addison Cravey, and also by Matthew Cravey, father of the children from Rogers; a great-grandson, James Reedy Thomas, and he was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his great-granddaughter, Marilyn Thomas, due in September. Steve was a loving brother to Terri Morrow, Gail McCall, Randy McCall & Patrick McCall. His major caregivers were his niece, Kayla & nephew, Kyle Cooley. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, as well as his Midland family. A viewing will be held Thursday, July 14th, between 5-7:00pm in the Chapel of Rollins Funeral Home. Funeral Service will begin at 10:00am, Friday, July 15, 2022, in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1101 West Hudson Road, Rogers, AR.
