Robert “Bob” Oliver Stanphill, age 90, was born February 19, 1932 to Ross McKinly and Lela Elva Hubbs Stanphill in Rogers, Ark.. Bob married Lula Goldsmith on December 24, 1950. They were blessed with almost 72 years together. Bob and Lou had one son, Bobby Darrel.
After his military service, Bob and Lou spent their lives farming in Arkansas and Missouri. Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, and playing his guitar.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; one brother; his precious son, Bobby; and his special girl, Sonia Stanfill.
Bob is survived by his wife, whom he loved, Lou; one grandson, Robert Joseph “Joey” Stanphill and his wife Bridget of Seligman, Mo.; one great-grandson, Bobby Darrel; three step-great-grandchildren, Logan, Peyton, and Allie; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Dottie Goldsmith. Bob is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends, including Janie Wells and Penny Sims.
Pallbearers will be Greg Stanfill, Bill Sims, Barry Pile, Rob McLelland, Mark Smith, Jerry Goldsmith, Aaron Pile, Caley Vo and Brad Sims.
Visitation will be on Monday, September 5 from 5-7 p.m. at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. A memorial service will he held at their home on Tuesday, September 6, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Michael Goldsmith officiating. Burial will follow at Sonora Cemetery. Services are under the care of Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.
