Randall (Randy) Thomas Jones, 71, of Rogers, Arkansas passed away on May 16, 2024, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Arkansas. Randy was born on January 18, 1953, in Washington, IN to Thomas and Mary Jones and had three brothers, Mark, Mike and Tommy; and two sisters, Cathy and Christy.
Randy and his family moved to Rogers, Arkansas when he was 17 years old. He graduated from Rogers High School where he excelled in both academics and sports, specifically basketball and baseball. Randy held the Rogers High School record for most three-point baskets in a single season for many years. He graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1975, where he played baseball for the Razorbacks on a scholarship and earned a position as a walk-on freshman with the Razorback basketball team.
Randy moved to Nashville, TN after college and eventually returned to Rogers in 1992 and purchased George’s Flowers, a local flower shop. In 2006 he married “the love of his life” Marce Carbajal and spent the next 18 years with her by his side. Randy and Marce moved to Fredericksburg, TX on a 16-acre ranch where he raised Texas Longhorn cattle and spent hours outdoors on his tractor or “working” in his barn.
Randy was always competitive and enjoyed physical fitness. He especially loved and excelled in golf and holds multiple golf Club Championship titles at Lost Springs Golf Club. On most warm days (and lots of cold) he could be found on the golf course or hitting balls on the range. His family was very important to him and in July 2023, he moved back to Rogers to be closer to his daughters and grandkids. He was a loving father and grandfather, always patient and kind and had a profound impact on many people throughout his life.
Randy’s faith was an essential part of his life. He loved and believed in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ very deeply.
Randy is survived by his wife, Marce Jones; his children Jenni Jones (Aaron), Amanda Hitt (Brandon), Carlos Strickland (Alma), Chanty Carbajal, and Charlotte Scripps; his four grandchildren Roman and Bauer Hitt, Hawkins and Vivienne Wilkerson, Luna Carbajal and Gabriel Strickland.
