Maxine Chance of Exeter Missouri passed away on January 17, 2024, at the age of 93 years. She was born August 14, 1930, in Stuttgart Arkansas.
Maxine worked as a farm laborer picking cotton, and as a waitress, then later was employed by Emerson Electric of Rogers, where she spent 25 years working; Maxine loved gardening flowers and gambling at the casino.
Maxine is preceded in death by her parents Israel Rayford and Ida Hicks Lawson; the love of her life James Robert Chance; daughters Karen Jean Tibbett Klutts Self and Jami Robbins Chance; and two granddaughters Jerri Lynn Buttry and Kelley Raye Klutts Mitchell.
She is survived by two sons William Newell Tibbett Jr and Steve Allen Tibbett; a daughter Sherry Maxine Buttry; one brother Bluford Lawson; two sisters Alice Thomas and Susan Lawson; 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Her last years were spent at Autumn Place Senior Living in Pea Ridge, where the staff there became another family—especially Angela, Sarah, and Kaylynn.
